I am extremely excited to be co-teaching pre-algebra with Ms. McNeill this school
year! It will be a great opportunity for the students to have 2 teachers in
their classroom. It will allow each student to have more individual and small
group time with a teacher.

I. Classroom Behavior Expectations
A. Rules
1. Be Present - Attend class on time ready to participate, includes supplies and good attitude
2. Be Pro-Active - Seek help, advice, assistance and support when you need it
3. Be Responsible - Accept responsibility, come prepared, use your agenda, do your work
4. Be Respectful - Of yourself, others and your school
5. Be Positive - Believe good things will happen and always give your best
B. Consequences
Warning 1 Verbal warning
Warning 2 Verbal warning, parent will be contacted, LD
Warning 3 Verbal warning, parent will be contacted, ASD
Warning 4 Verbal warning, parent will be contacted, referred to administrator
C. Other Expectations
1. Your 1st tardy in a 9 weeks will be considered a Warning 1 on the discipline plan.
2. 2 personal passes per 9 weeks – given at my discretion.
3. Food/candy is not allowed. Water and gum are fine unless they are a distraction. Passing out gum is considered a distraction.
4. When class time is given to complete assignments, students should be working. If I see that this is not the case, I will stop giving
time to work.
D. Student of the Week – I will have one person help me pass out papers, supplies, etc. each week. The responsibility will rotate weekly. You will be exempted from bell work during the week you are student of the week.
II. Grading Policy
A. Grading Scale – See CPMS or WCHS Handbook depending on the course
B. Categories: The grades you will receive this year fall under one of two categories. Even though they are not weighted equally, each part is essential to your success in my class.
1. Class Work, Homework, Activities – 10% of overall grade
2. Assessment – Essential Learning Assessments – 90% of overall grade
C. Assignment Expectations
1. Work is due when called for by the teacher. Late work will be accepted at ½ credit. Turn into the tray by the door if paper copy OR submit digitally. Assignments will be posted in google classroom.
2. When you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to get missed assignments. Work is due within the number of days missed. When you have completed your work, please turn into the “late” tray for your class period if paper copy OR submit digitally.
3. Please head your paper with first and last name, date and period. Points could be deducted if the heading is not complete. If you believe you turned in an assignment and do not receive it back, please check the no name basket.
D. Demonstration of Mastery
Students will have multiple attempts to demonstrate mastery of each Essential Learning Standard. Students may be required to participate in FIT sessions or complete additional work outside of class in order to participate in additional attempts.
III. First homework assignment – due Monday July 31!
A. Composition notebook (Periods 1-3 only), paper, pencil/eraser, folder/binder, calculator - TI-30XS or TI-30XIIS recommended
B. Class Supplies – each period is asked to bring in specific supplies to donate to the class but you may bring in others if you prefer.
Please bring two things to contribute to our class supply - then we will always have what we need in class. They will be left here and
used all year long. Thanks for your help!
